FROM THE SOURCE TO THE SPACE

How natural-light thinking becomes a lamp.

A source makes the light. The rest of the lamp determines how that light reaches you.

A light source is the starting point.

lipro’s natural-light work draws on SunLike light-source technology, which uses violet emitters. The source is then considered together with the optics and structure of the finished lamp.

Design where the light goes.

In lipro’s Japanese ceiling-light range, side-lit light guides distribute light across a broad surface, with indirect light toward the ceiling. Sleep Light uses a diffuser to create a smaller glow beside you.

The form has a job to do.

A fixture’s shape has to make room for its light source, optics, and structure. These elements are considered together, so the outward form and the light it produces work as one design.

On Sleep Light, the upper touch surface gives your hand a clear place to reach. Tap, hold, or double-tap to control the light. The form and the controls are designed around using it beside the bed.

lipro develops room lighting and bedside lighting for different jobs. One needs to reach across a room; the other needs to feel appropriate nearby, after the main lights are off.

Room lighting has to distribute light across a larger space. The optical structure and the shape of the fixture are developed together.

Sleep Light brings a soft glow within reach. A broad touch surface and a gradual fade respond to the small actions of bedtime.
